wrong number
Clay Shirky is a smart guy: free-culture advocate, NYU Professor on all things internet, author, TED talker, TIME Magazine’s Innovator 100 and a regular paid consultant to government and industry.
For decades he has evangelized digital connectivity, especially in the classroom.

But he’s witnessing a growing and obsessive misuse of technology in our lives.

He cites “glued to their screen” while tripping into public fountains, texting while driving, web surfing when folks should be working.

Distractions are taking their toll on our health, our focus and our productivity.

So he’s taken the unprecedented step of censoring his own students and banning cell phones in his classroom.
Bloomberg noticed this trend back in 2007 and banned cellphones in New York City Public Schools.
As Shirky noted,

The current mayor encourages his son Dante to violate Bloomberg's cell phone policy, and intends to let cell phones back into school.

We’ve been hearing a lot lately about how American “boots on the ground” are essential to a terror counter-offensive.

But the real boots on the ground in extreme Islam are not ours, they are the peaceful Muslims themselves.

We’ve witnessed beheadings in the Middle East, Northern Africa and now a suburb of Oklahoma City, and all in the name of religion.

It's now time for the silent majority in this “Religion of Peace” to rise up en masse---fully one-fourth of our Earth’s population---and lead the fight against terror in their name.

If they do, their boots on the ground become the first line of defense to real peace.

But if they do not, radical Islam will be comforted through their silence.

all we are saying is
The Farmers Markets have been rich in golden peaches these past few weeks.
They are large and they ripen well and the pit can be flicked out with just your fingernail.
Wash and halve them, remove the pit and brush them with canola oil, then drop them on the grill cut side down.
Smokey, blackened and with their sweetness concentrated even more, just add ice cream.
And roasted pistachios.
And a spoon.
