automation is on a roll

Back in December ClockTowerTenants warned of the coming touchscreen apocalypse to avoid a $15 minimum wage.

This has already happened in Italy.

Faced with a 15 euro minimum hour, Italian McDonalds have laid off their counter employees and installed automatic touch screens instead.

The screens don’t show up late, they don't steal or require work breaks or medical insurance.

And they never, ever get an order wrong.

And they can link to $pecials based on learning eating habits linked to a creditcard.

When employees demand more than they are worth in the market, corporations will respond without empathy.

They always do.

What do Kanye and Kim have in common with the Bronx Park Motel?

Nothing literally.

everybody digs Italy

Digging up city streets in Milan is an elegant process.

First there’s Milan.

Right?

Then the stones are removed and abandoned tram tracks can be excavated.

Groups of paving stones are numbered.

The stones are returned to the same strip from where they came.

Then they are watered and sand is washed into the cracks and voids under the paver.

A few weeks later and the dried repair is hard to even notice.

the philosophy of one century is the common sense of the next

Watching the news this is all bullshit and I am losing interest and I suspect that’s been part of his plan.

News cycles are spinning up and the people are tiring.

A perfect storm.
