a view from the bridge

One of the big perks for living in the Clocktower
is our wonderful view of the Third Avenue Bridge.

All that is about to change.

The demo is done, the lot is being emptied and hirise buildings
are right around the corner.

No use railing on about it.

Have a good weekend.

thud life

The whole building jumped.

Nervously close to my window.

So what made the thud?

The boys stacked it too high.

And the pile fell over.

in a dead heat with Mother Nature

At this time in a construction schedule
it’s always a race to close up before winter.

If they can get the siding on and the windows installed, space heaters can allow the carpenters to work inside right through the winter.

I remember making foil-wrapped grilled cheese’s on a construction heater like this when I was a kid.

But this crew isn’t going to make it.

Not by a long shot.

it's a livin' thing

“Sailin' away on the crest of a wave,
It's like magic.”

"Oh, rollin' and ridin' and slippin' and slidin',
It's magic.”

"And you, and your sweet desire,
You took me, ohh, higher and higher, baby.”

"It's a livin' thing.
It's a terrible thing to lose.”

"It's a givin' thing."

What a terrible thing to lose.”

“I'm takin' a dive...”
