stop making cents
We needed a dime to call our Mom.
Laundries wanted quarters.
Cigarette machines were 35 cents and never checked ID.
And pinball drained take-home pay one nickel at a time.
Now we have change we can believe in!
22.9 luggable pounds on a calibrated digital scale.
Guess.
And have a great weekend!

clockwork
“like the tick tick tock of the stately Clock”
Night and day, you are the one.
Only you beneath the moon or under the sun.
Whether near to me or far, it's no matter darling
where you are. I think of you
night and day.
Day and night
why is it so?
That this longing for you
follows where ever I go?
In the roaring traffic's boom,
in the silence of my lonely room
I think of you.
Night and Day.

feeding the Mongol horde
Osaka
asuparabēkon (アスパラベーコン), asparagus with bacon
Yakitori is a Japanese specialty. Little pieces of meat or seafood are skewered and grilled over charcoal or searing cast iron.
The Mongolian Mutton grill pan is essential, so of course I had to have one. The fat drains down the curved sides yielding a crisp delicacy everytime.
We shopped the Toyko commercial kitchen district...
...until I found this cast iron beauty on the dusty shelves.
At twenty six hundred and four yen it cost just under $26.00.
Amazon offers them for a few dollars more.
But nothing beats one you found and lugged all the way home, yourself.
