feeding the Mongol horde

Yakitori is a Japanese specialty. Little pieces of meat or seafood are skewered and grilled over charcoal or searing cast iron.


The Mongolian Mutton grill pan is essential, so of course I had to have one. The fat drains down the curved sides yielding a crisp delicacy everytime.

We shopped the Toyko commercial kitchen district...


...until I found this cast iron beauty on the dusty shelves.


At twenty six hundred and four yen it cost just under $26.00.




Amazon offers them for a few dollars more. 


But nothing beats one you found and lugged all the way home, yourself.
