water you doing with your life?

Charles Adams Platt was born in New York City,
October 16, 1861.

While our ClockTower was being built in 1885-6
he was studying art in Paris.

Platt returned to NYC, married Eleanor and had one son named Geoffrey.

He is famous for water scene etchings, but also painted in oil and watercolor.

He made a significant mark in architecture.

Platt designed an apartment building on the UpperWestSide, and also the Bryant Park Fountain.

Architects can be artists.

Artists can also be architects.

I'm no architect and it's debatable if I am an artist.

But I was born 90 years to the day after Charles! :-)
