For 34 years, reporter Christiane Amanpour has been the objective international voice for CNN.
But she got suckered this week, and Trump again,
got exactly what he wanted.
In this post-truth era, non-baised, fact-based reporting is more important than ever.
But Amanpour declared herself no longer “neutral”,
elevating her own reporting to being “truthful”.
Instead of just identifying conflict, she’s declared she’ll tell us “truth”.
If the rebels are in the right,
she’ll tell us so.
If the government is right,
she’ll tell us that is “truth” instead.
One of the world’s great, objective voices now declares she’s taking sides.
If discrediting reporters is the goal of Donald Trump,
he could not have planned her announcement any better.
