follow the money

I’ve always liked the old building at 128 East 86th Street by the 4-5-6 subway.

Built in 1915, its beautiful brickwork, fancy hand-formed cornices and show-off masonry window treatments were first featured here back in 2012.

Alas,
I have sad news for any of you who love old buildings as I do.

It’s being destroyed.

The “N/A” Historic District has doomed this old beauty to ruin despite gracing 86th and Lex for 101 years.

But not for much longer.

We chop this stuff up and throw it away as if it were worthless.

We’ll be sorry.
