This 1960-vintage deco style two-wheeler bankrupted its designer Ben Bowden, a British inventor who also had a hand in producing the Tucker automobile.
Bowden Industries has revived the design, but has sold only 38 of the bicycles which are built by hand in Ann Arbor, Mich.
One of the problems was the price: $89.50.
“That was a hell of a lot of money back then.” according to Bowden.
Available in 5 colors, today they retail for over $4200.00.
But at 62 pounds,
it's about twice the weight of a modern bike.
