I can’t feel my legs

What do you get when you take a sunny Sunday close to Halloween and add over six thousand bicycles at the Courthouse?

The fantastic Tour de Bronx!

This is the largest free cycling event in New York State, now in its 20th year.

The early morning began here at the ClockTower with protein and carbohydrate loading.

And then we were off to 161st street for the start!

There were occasional rest stops.

Bottlenecks.

Gorgeous scenery.

The idea was to follow the little yellow indicators, but hundreds of us got very turned around at the St. Raymond's Cemetery out in Throgs Neck.

Eventually a marshall came to find us and help get us back on course.

The 25 mile version we did covers a great deal of the Bronx, with a nice tendency to ride along the water.

The finish line is a walk-in to The Bronx Botanical Garden.

Yes. Folks were tired.

Organizers intended pizza for all registered finishers but ran out early.

No matter.

We were happy just with t-shirts to evidence we finished!

Today I’m working from home.
