let’s get this on the ball

and go to bat for Sobro.

Anytime the words “Bronx” and “Kill” are used together,
it doesn’t end well, right?

Except when it refers to the “Bronx Kill”, that little ribbon of water separating Randall’s Island from Port Morris.

It’s an obstacle to Randall’s Island, so the NYCEDC promised a little bridge as part of the South Bronx Greenway project.

You can read about that here:

But it’s taking forever and we went to find out why.

Workers left the entry gate open,
so we rode our bikes inside.

Sue me.

Riding the path past the NY POST distribution center, we arrived at the connector bridge and railroad crossing.

They’re making progress.

Gates are in place, the railroad crossing is completed and soon-to-be flashing lights are set in footings.

The bridge itself is backformed and filled with rebar,
 ready for concrete.

Better still, the Bronx Brewery and Port Morris Distillery are now open and right on the way!

Why am I so eager to have this little bridge completed?

On the other side.

Have a great weekend!
