my five new favorite food groups

Back on New Year's Eve
we decided to keep things simple around here.

We stayed home and followed an earlier scotch and french fry post. Remember this?

Except this year I “oven fried” them.
So simple you can do it drinking Scotch.

Wash and wedge good russet potatoes and throw in a yam or two.

In a big bowl mix salt and ground pepper, chopped rosemary and a heavy drizzle of olive oil.

Toss to coat.

Then on cookie sheets at 400〫for about 25 minutes or so, but turn them at 10 minutes, and 15 and again at 20.

Tough, huh? Crunchy and fantastic.

Add ketchup, single malt, a good salad, a beer chaser and oil-cured olives.
