and I ain’t lion



The lion is a legendary design motif; the Etruscan’s got there about 2500 years ago.


The Greeks tried their hand about a thousand years later.


And the Romans, 1500 years after that.


Not to be outdone, the Bronx took a shot in 1920, less than a mile from our ClockTower.


In fact, there’s two of them.



Just north of the HUB, this clump of retail stores is nothing special, except for its sheetmetal cornice.


If you like the metalworkers art as I do, 
these heads are worth a trip.
