where there's smoke

“A woman is only a woman my friend,
but a good cigar is a smoke.”
Rudyard Kipling, The Betrothed

La Case Grando Tobacco Company never intended to set the world on fire.

Just fine quality tobacco.

They make handwrapped cigars in the Italian Market along Arthur Avenue, and I stopped by to take a look.

Remember, Cubans remain illegal in the USA so the inside “cut” is from the Dominican Republic.

The flat wrapper is a fine quality leaf from a specialty farm in Connecticut.

These cigars are very well priced, only $20 for a sampler bag of seven different smokes.

The longer and thinner the cigar, the cooler the smoke. The shorter and fatter, the hotter. Who knew this?

La Case Grande will do a special run of their cigars for you with your own cigar band/custom label.

Since 1997 they’ve sated the nicotine cravings of countless Arthur Avenue tourists, including Mayor Giuliani, Governor Pataki and President George W. Bush.

Their hands are delicate and rapid and very sure of what they are doing.

Recommended.
