stuff happens today

If you had been around 2056 years ago in Rome you would have known this was not such a great day for emperor Julius Caesar.
On March 15th in 44 B.C. he was on his way to the Senate-House when a soothsayer told him great peril was at hand and would come no later than the Ides of March (the 15th).

Caesar casually remarked, “Well, today is March 15th.”
The seer replied, “Aye the Ides of March have come, but they have not gone.”

Caesar was assassinated later that day.
