The First Music Lesson

Back in early October we were trying to get to the bottom of the “12 Rathbone Place” billboard painted on the ClockTower.
That led to a link for Estey Organ in London which led to John and Mary Carnahan curators of the Estey Organ Museum in Brattleboro Vermont. Last week they surprised me with a large envelope from the Post Office.

Inside I found this (!), an 8X12 vintage print ad for the Estey Piano Co. I love this!
Look at the stern music teacher on the right. The Mother is literally shoving that poor kid towards that piano and the kid looks like he’s about to taste his first oyster. lol I think it’s just great….. and look through the window.
That’s right, our very own ClockTower, obviously after 1885 but before the Lincoln Avenue 3-story addition went on in 1905. Great stuff! Many thanks John and Mary, and Happy Holiday to all.
