in the name of the Father

My BMW1100rs would have been 20 years old this year.

But it's such an excellent bike BMW still makes it.

It’s faster now and lighter, and a 1200 producing almost
 twice the horsepower as before.

But it still handles like a train on rails according
to every review I could find.

In a nod to Ducati,
they painted the trellis frame bright red.

I can’t say I love the windscreen,
it looks a bit insect-ey to me.

But the seat was fall-asleep comfortable then and to this day
almost unchanged.

The Metzler tires and Brembo stoppers are the best in the biz.

Sadly, the control gear is still as fiddly.
“Button pox” one reviewer called it.

And instead of windswept lines like mine, it’s full of cutting edges like all the bikes today.

BMW

Still.

Got a loose $20k for my collection plate?
