railroaded

Oak Point is not far from here,
an abandoned wasteland of industrial trash and household garbage.

And one blue train caboose, from the old New Haven Line.

This site was once a public beach.

It was dotted with colonial, waterfront estates in the 19th century but over time this 28 acre site failed to an illegal dumping ground.

Once tied to John Gotti and the Gambino crime family, the bodies are long gone but the developer has been finding corroded, abandoned handguns.

It’s taken seven years to clean the trash, raise the money and draw up plans for a new concrete facility.

This will ultimately be about making more money.

A crane is already onsite.

And another cool, old part of the Bronx will soon be gone.
