Most of us by now have accepted we are raising a generation of young people too distracted to actually look where they are going.
But with national healthcare on the agenda, the daily rise in injuries is getting serious.
Traffic advisors advocate new laws because buses must stop short to avoid texting pedestrians, and now the riders on the buses are getting hurt.
So the Dutch are testing LED strips in the sidewalk to bring traffic lights down where texters are actually looking.
Which means no one will be on the look out for traffic anymore.
We’re accomodating injury
while complaining about the cost of healthcare.
Brilliant.
