Harley is the epic American motorcycle, 
but it is not actually manufactured here.


It’s assembled from foreign-made parts.


But one part was actually sold at their dealers,
and it has gotten Harley into trouble with the EPA.


It’s a little chip with secret software that when installed lets the Harley go faster while exceeding EPA emission levels.


Naturally the EPA was not amused and fined the company.


As part of the settlement, Harley has to stop selling the chip and buy back all the chips sold at dealerships and destroy them.


Harley would not admit liability, and said in a statement that it disagreed with the government’s position, arguing the settlement represents...
