We are the land of opportunity, no doubt.
But most still think in terms of “me instead of we”,
as if basic human need were a zero sum game.
In years ahead, if we survive, American culture will mature.
Until then we’ll raise cash for the causes we believe in.
Just as long as those causes are largely for ourselves.
