playing cops and joggers

Police Commissioner Ray Kelly turned down a chance to lead the FBI as far back as 1993.

He’s held federal and global office, too, but 43 of his 72 years have been right here with the NYPD.

I’ve praised NY’s finest when I think they get things right.

I was pissed off and hugely disappointed two years ago when our 40th shed 16 dirty officers to federal corruption charges.

He’s had his clashes with civil libertarians but through it all, Ray Kelly has remained clean and in charge and like his style or not, no one can argue crime hasn’t plunged under his steely leadership.

With the whole world watching, our marathon came off without a hitch because his blue wall put their lives between the bad guys and our runners.

Thanks, Commissioner.
