Anne Geddes is an Australian photographer with a knack for capturing babies. I like the way babies smell.
But yesterday, Business Insider magazine published some statistics that are alarming to me.
“Illegitimacy is becoming more widespread in the United States. More than half of all births to American women under 30 are born out of wedlock.”
More than half.
Quoting the New York Times, “Most researchers agree [illegitimacy] increases a child’s risk of emotional problems and falling into poverty.”
- 29 percent of white children are born to unmarried women.
- 53 percent of Latinos and
- 73 percent of all black children in America are born to a single parent.
It’s not our beautiful kids who are illegitimate,
if you ask me.
Well, you can always do your part. *snip* *snip*
ReplyDeleteSomehow, oddly enough, I don't think I'm part of the problem.
ReplyDeleteBut I still winced when I read "snip." lol
HAHA go get em Anonymous
ReplyDeleteThat was not from me. It is still rather sad. Xo me
ReplyDeleteIt's the only way to be consummately safe, after all
ReplyDeleteTrue and it is easier to do that. But girls have to be responsible as well.
ReplyDeleteWomen have the power to end war. ;-)

Very true. I got prego with twins when I was 19. As much my fault as his. I am just saying girls need to do more than have guys fixed.
DeleteTwins at 19? (shudder) You were a baby having babies.
DeleteStill with him?
Nope.
DeleteDude, I dont' know about "women ending wars." Condeleeza? Hillary? Hows their scorecard?
ReplyDeleteDude, I didn't say women ended wars. I didn't say either one of those two ladies ended wars either. They didn't. But check out Lysistrata. I said "women have the power to". They do. :-)
DeleteAristophanes was right.
Women? Wars? I thought the topic was illegitimacy and personal responsibility? Ah, a subtle redirect wrapped in charm :p
