a different kind of grilling

Labor Day and our 1886 ClockTower
are New York contemporaries, did you know that?

Labor Day, Union Square, 1882, wiki

In 1882, the New York Knights of Labor sponsored a parade that passed through Union Square.

By 1884 it was the largest working class parade in America.

Ten years later Congress passed a national holiday and American’s have taken the day off ever since. The trend reversed in the 1960’s.

We don’t make products anymore,
we retail goods made cheaply in other countries.

Retail supplies one quarter of all American jobs so if you must labor today and you are missing the grill, be okay with it.

24 million Americans have no place to go tomorrow.
