Back in November 2010 I watched the 3rdAvenueBridge open from my loft in 402.
The bridge pivots on a big turntable to let tall sea traffic through:
It had an engineering beauty about it at the time, and it was utterly surreal.
Yesterday I was on the bridge when it happened again.
